Import bank records
Bring a file from your bank or wallet; Lavie finds the transactions and shows you the list before anything is added.
Statements come once a month, but the transaction list in your bank's app can be exported any day. Lavie skips what it already has, including your repeating bills, so nothing is counted twice.
Where it is in Lavie
On the Plan tab, tap Import. It's also the button at the top right of the keypad that + opens. Then choose Choose a file, Screenshots or Take a photo.
What Lavie reads
- PDF statements, including scanned ones.
- CSV and Excel (.xlsx) exports. Older .xls files and OFX aren't read; export as CSV instead.
- Zip files, including the password-protected ones Alipay and WeChat Pay send by email. Save the zip to Files first (in Mail, open the attachment and tap Save to Files), then pick it with Choose a file. Lavie asks for the password and never stores it.
- Screenshots of a transaction list, up to ten at a time, or a photo of a paper statement.
The file is read on your iPhone or iPad. Only its text is sent to an AI service to find the transactions, after you allow it once. Files over 30 MB are refused; very long statements are cut at 40 PDF pages or about 120,000 characters, and Lavie says so, so import the later months as a second file.
Where to find this month's records
Singapore
DBS / POSB, OCBC, UOB: open the account or card in the app, find Transaction History, and look for the download or share icon. Accounts go back about six months; cards show the current month.
PayLah!, PayNow: the transaction list has a share icon that exports a PDF.
China
Alipay (支付宝): 我的 › 账单 › ··· › 开具交易流水证明 › 用于个人对账. Choose the dates and send it to your email. The zip is protected by the password in Alipay's message: save the zip to Files, choose it in Lavie and type the password when asked.
WeChat Pay (微信支付): 我 › 服务 › 钱包 › 账单 › 常见问题 › 下载账单 › 用于个人对账. Up to three months at a time, sent by email as a zip with a password. Save it to Files and choose it the same way.
Bank apps: look for 账单 or 交易明细 and an export that emails you the file.
Hong Kong and Taiwan
Most banking apps export the current month under 交易紀錄 or 帳單 as a CSV or PDF; e-wallets under 交易紀錄.
Japan
Cards (楽天カード, 三井住友カード, JCB, イオンカード): ご利用明細 › CSVダウンロード on the website, or a screenshot of the list in the app.
Banks and PayPay: 入出金明細 or 取引履歴 › ダウンロード, or a screenshot.
United States and Canada
Chase, Amex, Bank of America, Capital One, TD, RBC: Activity › Download, choose CSV and a date range up to today.
Apple Card: Wallet › Apple Card › Card Balance › a statement › Export Transactions.
Europe and the UK
Most banking apps export a CSV or PDF under Transactions (Umsätze, Mouvements, Movimientos) with a date range up to today. Revolut, N26, Monzo, Wise: Statement › Export.
Brazil
Nubank, Itaú, Bradesco, Inter: Extrato › Exportar, as CSV or PDF.
Anywhere else
Open the account in your bank's app, find the transaction list, and look for a download, export or share icon. A screenshot of the list works too.
After an import
Lavie remembers the last day the import covered and suggests exporting from there to today next time. If the same name came back three or more times, about a month apart and for about the same amount (Netflix, the phone bill), Lavie offers to turn those entries into one repeating bill, so it's counted before payday. Everything an import adds can be undone with Undo in the message that appears afterwards.
Free plan
One import per payday cycle is free, and it comes back on payday. Lavie Plus has no limit.
A file Lavie couldn't read?
Write to [email protected] with the bank or app it came from and the file type. A sample with the amounts changed helps most.
